FRANK ZAPPA FREAK
Jamin Jon Kiebon The Zappa Freak
The Night of October 31st 1976 was the night I got Zappaitzed.
As a 15 year old impressionable young mind I attended my very first
Frank Zappa concert. I was also. fortunate enough to have a 2nd row
orchestra center seat.
That night changed my life for ever. I would never again think about
or look at anything in this world the same way especially music. I had
been listening to hard rock or progressive rock as it was called back
then for about 2 years. Led Zeppelin
Deep Purple Pink Floyd Jimi Hendrix  & Jethro Tull (called Classic
rock today)
were my God’s & hero’s? Surely Nothing could approach that level of
greatness I thought. I remember the felling I got after that first FZ
show that this was something way different than the stuff I was
listening to. I also noticed right away the superior musicianship of
Frank & his band. Every song was so tight and each note was so
precise yet there was also plenty of improvising and a feeling that
anything could happen at anytime. Frank talked to the audience goofed
around
had audience participation and used a large poodle as a prop to
demonstrate why The Woman has always been much smarter than the
man. I was Hooked. I never saw anyone with so much Energy and the
balls to say what ever he wanted to say play whatever he wanted to
play & do what ever the Fuck he wanted to do. And his guitar playing
was just out of this world. From the moment on  Frank Zappa became
the main influence on me. I believed in the things he said and did and
identified with his stance against assholes & bullshit and plastic
conformists.
He knew just how to strike a chord deep inside my insecure alienated
teenage mind. I felt inspired to be like him and step forward and
express myself. Like a lot of other stupid teenagers before I suppose.
Needless to say Frank Zappa has been an enormous influence on my
life. If I had never heard his music I would never have created any
music of my own or had the unmitigated audacity to get out there and
try to play it in front of people. FZ more than anyone  else inspired me
to dare to be different and don’t let anyone or anything try to stop you
from doing it.
Much more will be revealed on this cheesy little Zapppapage. I hope to
use it as a sort of forum to discuss expose and enlighten the just plain
folks in Centerville to get a little Frank on them. Please check back
often as I intend to share many informative and deranged tales of my
29 years as Zappa freak. Tales of concerts
face to face encounters with the Man Himself (I have been extremely
blessed to have meet Frank several times) and other band members
will fill this page soon. Remember this whole site is new & under auto
destruct so please bear with me.
On thing this page is not intended for is the sale exchange of or
infringement of anything bearing likeness to a copy written trademark
Zappa family trust owned product of intellectually conceived property
created or owned by FZ or his heirs.
In other words I don’t want to piss them off & I am not selling
anything they own.
This is just a Fans labor of Love.
