YOUR FAMILY   JON JILL & GAIL
Lee Norse was my best friend and musical partner. His
sudden & tragic death On September 18th 2005 has
rocked my world It was the saddest day ever and a
tremendous loss for my family.
I still can not believe that I will never see him again or
play music with him. His energy enthusiasm and
devotion to me as a friend and artist was one of the
greatest joys of my life. His love for my Daughter Gail
is my greatest inspiration and I am so proud a big part
of him is alive in her. He was a special person and a
super talent. He was  the funniest man I ever met. Lee
like our Music Hero Frank Zappa felt that Humor
belonged in everything especially in music. His ability
to mimic and impersonate nearly every one he came in
contact with was truly amazing. No where else is that
talent so well demonstrated then on this piece you are
now hearing!
“HAVE YOU HEARD OF THE SQUATTERS “was
recorded in 1991. It was completely off the cuff. The
character Lee is playing is the former landlord of my
wife’s best friend.
He was a 70 something year old neurotic Jewish
landlord from Canarise. Lee had never met him before
the encounter he is re-enacting in the performance. The
story stems from this tale. Lee in need of a place to
crash (for the umpteenth time) sleeps on the floor of an
apartment Jill’s best friend Laurie had just moved out
of that morning. This Old nag comes down from his
apartment upstairs & finds Lee crashed out. This is his
reaction! It was recorded live to tape (4 track cassette)
in one take. Jamin Jon (me) is playing the guitar with
my classic hold digital delay looping a Twilight Zone
type theme in the background. Some over dubs
(keyboards) were added after. Please excuse the poor
audio quality.A remastered version will replace it soon.
I Love you Lee and I will keep your CRAZY ASS
SPIRIT ALIVE BY SPREADING IT ALL OVER
CYBER SPACE.
Your Best Friend Always
